The dam has been named after a rushi called Kandava who is believed to have performed great yagnas here, and has since been officially renamed as Kadam Narayana Reddy Project (KNRP). The final destination is the Kawal Wildlife Sanctuary located at Jannaram, listed among the important wildlife sanctuaries in the country. The Kawal sanctuary is home to several varieties of flora and fauna and is a must-see place for those planning to catch a glimpse of wild animals in their most natural habitat.

Winter is considered as an ideal season to visit this sanctuary. Cheetal, Sambar, Nilgai, Sloth Bear, Barking Deer, Indian Bison, Panther and Tiger are some of the animal species that are spotted here. Tourists can even find reptiles such as Crocodile, Monitor Lizard, Python, Star Tortoise and Cobra, in Kawal wildlife sanctuary. Taramati Baradari is a historical sarai as part of Ibrahim Bagh, a Persian style garden built during the reign of Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah, the second Sultan of Golconda.The Baradari was constructed on the banks of the Musi river. Today, the region comes under the city limits of Hyderabad, India. The tourism department attributes the name to the reign of the Seventh Sultan of Golconda, Abdullah Qutb Shah who as an ode to his favorite courtesan, Taramati, is said to have named the sarai Taramati Baradari.

Chowmahalla Palace or Chowmahallatuu (4 Palaces), is a palace of the Nizams of Hyderabad state. It was the seat of the Asaf Jahi dynasty and was the official residence of the Nizams of Hyderabad while they ruled their state. The palace remains the property of Barkat Ali Khan Mukarram Jah, heir of the Nizams.

Laknavaram lake

Laknavaram Lake is a lake located in Govindaraopet mandal, about 80km from Warangal, Telangana. It is spread over an area of 10,000 acres and holds about 2.135 tmcft of water. It irrigates over 3,500 acres of land. It was built by Kakatiya kings. It has about 13 islands in it and has a 160 metres long hanging bridge, which connects three islands.
