The Gujarat International Handloom & Handicraft Meet, “GURJARI” 2015 is scheduled to be held from 27 February – 1 March 2015 at Ahmedabad. The event is organized jointly by Gujarat State Handloom and Handicraft Development Corporation Ltd. (GSHHDC), Government of Gujarat and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
India is one of the most important suppliers of handloom and handicrafts to the world market. Although exports of handicrafts appear to be sizeable, India’s share in world imports is miniscule.
Gujarat has remained one of the leading states in handicraft and handloom production with a huge scope for further expansion. Handicraft items such as jute crafts, toys from the Kutch region have good demand.
GURJARI 2015 is a comprehensive buyer seller meet on Handloom and Handicraft which aims at showcasing Gujarat’s expertise in handlooms and handicrafts. It showcases the best and latest products in Handicraft, Handloom / textiles, Jewelry, Apparels & Accessories, Carpets, Leather, Paintings, Gift Ideas, Home Décor and Toys & Dolls.
The event will feature an Exhibition, Buyer-Seller Meet, Live demo of Artisans, Fashion Shows, Seminars, Craft Films, etc.
